The first Evenings with Leaders a success!
CEGEP Champlain - St. Lawrence held its first edition of the Evenings with Leaders series on November 12th in the iA Financial Group Auditorium. Students, alumni, partners and members of the community were invited. With these evenings, St. Lawrence, the college of choice for emerging leaders, contributes to the important conversation and reflection on the role and issues facing current and future leaders.
The evening also highlighted the new status of the college as St. Lawrence became a Constituent College recently.
Two inspiring leaders
Mr. Peter Tardif, journalist for CBC Québec since 2010, led the interview with a touch of humor appreciated by the guest speakers. Mr. Denis Ricard, President and Chief Executive Officer at iA Financial Group, expressed with simplicity and conviction the impact of positive leadership within a professional team. He spoke of the importance of frank conversations with colleagues while insisting that a leader must engage in his own professional development.
Ms. Alexandra Fortier, a St. Lawrence a graduate, and Manager, Outreach and Public Engagement at Global Affairs Canada, reached the audience with her maturity and rich career. With an impressive experience despite her young age, she demonstrated that the mobilization of a team goes through a shared leadership, focusing on the complementarity of strengths.
This new formula will return next spring and will continue over time. A big thank you to the participants of this first edition.
