Welcome to St. Lawrence! This page is a one-stop shop for all the information you need to get ready for cegep. The first day of the Winter semester is Wednesday January 14th.
Winter Welcome Day
Are you starting your first semester at St. Lawrence?
Join us at the college on Tuesday, January 13th at 10:30 am to learn about St. Lawrence, meet your fellow students, and get oriented. This event will include a brief presentation about the college, followed by a campus tour led by a student ambassador. This is also a good time to pick up any textbooks you’ve ordered, to find your locker, and to locate your first classes. The event should last no more than an hour and a half.

Bookstore
Book Purchases
You can purchase your books online at Bookstore SLC. All transactions must be completed using a credit card, as dual debit-credit cards are not supported. Be sure to keep a copy of your email receipt, as you’ll need it when picking up your books.
Book Pickup
Your order will be ready for pickup at the St. Lawrence bookstore (room 294) two business days after it’s placed. If you’re unable to collect it yourself, someone else can pick it up for you, as long as they have a copy of your receipt.
Book Availability
Only books that are currently in our inventory can be purchased. If you see “NA” next to a book on your list, it means the book is not yet available, and its arrival date is unknown. You’ll need to purchase it at a later date.
Vouchers
If you have a voucher, you may use the voucher number online. For more details about vouchers, visit room 201.
Refunds & Exchanges
To receive a refund, you must provide the original receipt, either in paper or digital format. Wrapped books must be returned in their original wrapping, as unwrapped books cannot be refunded or exchanged. Be sure to check the refund deadline, as no refunds will be processed after September 26th, 2025.
Buses
Bus Stops Near the College
The number 18 bus stops directly in front of the college on Avenue Nérée-Tremblay.
The following buses serve Chemin Ste-Foy: 13, 16, 79, 92, 93, 94, 804, 807, 907, L2, and L3.
Ordering Your OPUS Card
Students can order their OPUS card with photo on Omnivox, under the “Reduced Fare OPUS Card” menu. A proof of attendance will be available on Omnivox once your semester schedule is released. You can then order your OPUS card, which will be sent to you by mail.
In Fall 2025, St. Lawrence students will have access to a discounted RTC pass at a cost of $210. The student pass will be valid for 17 weeks from the first time it is used. You can buy your pass at the Centre d’information at 820 Ernest Gagnon.
You will need proof of full-time student status to get your pass, so make sure to have your digital student card handy (in the Omnivox app)! Note that this student card will only indicate your status once your schedule has been created and sent to you in August.
If you already have an active OPUS card, please ensure that the card will not expire before your St. Lawrence pass. Note that an OPUS card expires after 4 years. If you have an active OPUS card and will be 18 years or under until September 30th, 2025, you do not need to renew your student status each year. If you are 19 years of age or older, your student status expires every year and must be renewed at a cost of $5. Make sure to bring your OPUS card with you to buy your pass, so that it can be directly loaded onto your card.
If you do not already have an active OPUS card, you can buy one at a cost of $15 when you get your student pass.

Finances
Food Services
The cafeteria is open every semester, following class schedules. It is located on the ground floor, next to the atrium. Vending machines and microwaves are also available for student use.
Water Fountains
Water fountains are located throughout the college and all fountains include water bottle taps. We recommend that you bring a reusable water bottle.

There are over 25 restaurants and cafés near the College.
Housing Information
Students can access the housing document to help locate apartments and rooms near the college. The accommodations listed are not inspected by Champlain – St. Lawrence and do not serve as recommendations. This document is for informational purposes only.
Insurance
Students receive insurance through Plan Major as part of their fees. The college does not manage this insurance plan and any questions you may have about the plan should be directed to Plan Major or to your student association. You may find the following documents to be helpful.

Library Services
Book Search & Reservations
You can search for books online using the library catalog (KOHA). Once you find the book you need, you can reserve it by placing a hold. The library will notify you when your book is ready for pick-up.
In-Person Assistance
You can visit the library during its opening hours, Monday to Friday during term time. Library clerks are available to help you find books or documents. Make sure your student ID card is properly set up so you can check out books.

Locker Information
Locker Assignments
Your locker number is listed at the top of your schedule. You can only use the locker assigned to you, as determined by the registrar. It is recommended to bring a lock and secure it right away on Welcome Day.
Locker Policy
Lockers are school property, and St. Lawrence reserves the right to search them if necessary. You must empty your locker by the last day of classes in May, as lockers will be cleaned, repaired, and prepared for the Fall semester during the first week of June. Any items left behind will not be kept, and the school is not responsible for locker contents. Be sure to clear out your belongings on time to avoid losing them!

Schedule Changes & Contact Information
Primary Contact: Alexandre Roussel
Before reaching out for assistance, check the Modification Module in Omnivox to see if you can make changes yourself. This module should be used for simple schedule modifications, such as changing from one section to another within the same course or switching between two course options that were in your course selection.

When to Contact Alexandre Directly
You should contact Alexandre if:
- You are missing one or more courses
- You have too many courses in your schedule
- You have a schedule conflict
- You failed a course and no longer meet a prerequisite
- You have no lunch break (30 minutes between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm)
- You have a medical reason (medical note required)
Fees & College Policy
If you request a schedule change due to a time-of-day preference, a $25 fee will apply for each modification. Please note that the College may adjust schedules without notice for logistical reasons.
Student ID Card
Students must obtain their electronic student ID card through Omnivox. This digital card confirms student status and grants access to services such as the library and room reservations. The card is renewed annually.
Mobile Access
To access your digital student ID on your mobile phone, download the Omnivox mobile app for iOS or Android.
