CÉGEP Champlain St. Lawrence KickStart SLC “Final Pitch-Coup de Coeur” winner kicks off his own business
CÉGEP Champlain St. Lawrence, in conjunction with its KickStart SLC sponsors, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), Spektrum and Sarailis Avocats, is pleased to note that the Final Pitch - “Coup de Coeur” winner of the 2018 KickStart Final Pitch competition, Mr. Benjamin Larose-Giroux, has launched his new business venture with the help and support of the KickStart SLC team.
Benjamin Larose-Giroux, who impressed the judges with his well-prepared business start-up pitch launches Tutoria, a new approach to tutoring.
Benjamin’s “pitch” to promote his start-up company, Tutoria, offering tutoring services to nearby high schools and their students, by employing local Cégep and University students who have prior tutoring experience, giving tutors the opportunity to easily and effortlessly connect with potential clients. Benjamin’s early concept is to mainly do the tutoring at the high schools after school. “Tutoring the students after class means that when the parents arrive to pick up their child their child’s homework already advanced or completed. This is a huge deal for most parents”, mentioned Benjamin, “because the parents are generally the ones who, for younger students, will help with the homework. This allows parent and child to get a head start on the work and allow for more quality time at home.” Benjamin has leveraged this support and taken the additional steps to start up his new tutoring business, Tutoria, and has launched a terrific website: https://www.montutoria.com/
“KickStart SLC has been a tremendous source of information and support in my starting my business”, stated Benjamin, “They offered funding, which is definitely a major requirement for a business start-up, but in addition the KickStart SLC program, mentors and sponsors helped me with the details, and pointed me in the right direction, and if I got stuck somewhere along the way they were always there to help. Starting a business while still in school can be difficult. I am really happy the KickStart SLC program was there for me. In fact, I can honestly say that without the help of KickStart SLC, I would have struggled immensely, and I am not sure I would have had the success I am experiencing now. I have already lined up my first clients and am recruiting more tutors. Going forward I want to offer these services across the Province.
The KickStart SLC program teachers, mentors and sponsors want to congratulate Benjamin on the success of his business start-up and wish him continued success going forward.
