SLC Hosts Athletic Directors from Across Canada
From June 11 to 14, Champlain St. Lawrence was the host to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Annual General Meetings.
Close to 50 delegates from across the country, from Halifax (NS) to Nanaimo (BC), spent the week in Quebec City to share knowledge and best practices from their respective conferences. The CCAA counts 94 member institutions include colleges, universities, technical institutes and cégeps located in eight provinces and regionally governed by five member conferences: PACWEST (Pacific Western Athletic Association) in British Columbia, ACAC (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference) in Alberta and Saskatchewan, OCAA (Ontario Colleges Athletic Association) in Ontario, RSEQ (Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec) in Québec, ACAA (Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association) in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island
The event was also the site of the 5th Annual CCAA Hall of Fame banquet, where 4 former athletes, 4 coaches and 2 builders were inducted into the CCAA Hall of Fame.
The event was a resounding success as the guests thoroughly enjoyed Quebec City as well as the St. Lawrence’s infrastructures for the meetings. The plenary was held in the IA Financial Group Auditorium, while other activities took place in the Jeffery Hale Student Centre.
