2023-2024 Golf

Champlain - St. Lawrence has been very active when it comes to the development of golf in the City of Québec and in the province of Québec. 

Our golf program has been very successful for the past 20 years, winning 5 provincial championships, 6 national championships and many well deserved gold, silver and bronze medals (national and provincial championships). In addition to that, St. Lawrence hosted no less than 3 national championships. Our teams have successfully competed in many provincial and national competitions and are building a strong reputation as a college with a winning attitude and culture.

Our golf program has a rich history of success ranking among the top teams in the country every year. Our student-athletes benefit from the expertise of outstanding coaching staff and we strive in providing them the best learning experiences possible.

HEAD COACH FRED COLGAN 

Our highly reputed golf program can count on another year of contract with Fred Colgan as the golf program coordinator and Head Coach. Thank you for your dedication.

• 21 years as St. Lawrence Head Coach
• Twice CCAA Coach of the Year (2011-12 and 2017-18)
• Placed 19 members of the Lions’ program on Golf Team Canada
• Placed 2 LPGA players, 4 symetras

COACH JULIEN MARCHAND 

The golf program can count on Julien Marchand to take care of our golf student-athletes. Julien has been with the program for several years.

• Professional status: Canada PGA candidate
• Education: Université Laval, studying Phys Ed.
• Professional education: Club fitting (The Oven, Nike), Putting (SAM PuttLab Level 3)

Tryouts:

To be a member of our golf program, you must contact our coach Fred Colgan (fredco@videotron.ca) once you have been accepted to SLC. He will communicate with you for the membership conditions to his Academy.

Practices:

The team practices two or three times per week according to the following schedule: Mondays-Wednesdays and Fridays from 15:00-18:00 (Competitive program) or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15:00-18:00 (Recreational program).

Competition Calendar:

The calendar is composed of 3 one-round tournaments followed by a 36-hole Provincial Championship. These rounds are held on Sundays in September and October. If the team qualifies, they then have the opportunity of going to the CCAA National Championships.
