Cross-Country

Our Cross-Country team is a member of the RSEQ North-East conference. The league is currently composed of colleges from Quebec/Chaudière Appalaches, Saguenay, Lower North-Shore and Lower St-Lawrence Regions.

HEAD COACH EMMA GLABRAITH 

Welcome back to Emma Galbraith, an outstanding athlete that competes for the Rouge et Or team at the USports level. She is also a former Tulsa Track and Field athlete. Emma is a passionate coach and is the perfect fit for our Women’s Cross-Country team.

  • CIS gold medalist (1000m and 1500m)
  • Master in Kinesiology
  • B.Sc in Sports and Minor in psychology

COACH XAVIER BERTRAND

The Cross-Country team can count on Xavier Bertrand again as he returns with the team. His first experience on the team allowed the program to experience its first Canadian Championship. Xavier also has a major impact on the team as a pedagogue and great motivator.

  • Qualified for Provincial and National Teams
  • Qualified for International Meets
  • ULaval (R&O) member

Tryouts:

Team tryouts are open to any SLC student and are held in the first and second week of classes in August.

Practices:

The team practices two times per week.

Competition Calendar:

The races take place on Saturdays in the months of September and October. The calendar is composed of 2 regular season races, followed by the North-East Conference Championships, and then by the RSEQ Provincial Championships. If the team qualifies, they then have the opportunity of going to the CCAA National Championships.
