Four St.Lawrence Students Awarded Scientific Communication Award at InitiaSciences Symposium

Four St.Lawrence Students Awarded Scientific Communication Award at InitiaSciences Symposium

Four St.Lawrence students, Yanni Boudi, Marie Ciocoiu, Hajar Hadraoui and Maïssa N’Diaye have just completed their year-long research internship through the InitiaSciences program under the mentorship of Sann Delaive, a biology PhD student at Université Laval. Throughout the year, they investigated the three-spined stickleback population in the Saguenay Fjord while deepening their understanding of evolutionary theory through hands-on research experience.

On June 13th, they presented the results of their work at the InitiaSciences Symposium. They also took part in a roundtable discussion with fellow student researchers, reflecting on what they learned through the experience, what surprised them most, and the qualities they believe are essential for successful researchers.

They were awarded the Scientific Communication Award, recognizing the presentation that stood out for its clarity, accessibility, and effectiveness in communicating scientific ideas.

Congratulations to all four students on this well-deserved recognition!
