Improving Your Communication Skills
Targeted skills: Oral communication, writing, written and oral comprehension
*For all courses, your English proficiency level will be determined by a placement test completed during registration on the form.
Possible levels: High beginner, pre-intermediate, intermediate, and high intermediate
Format: 20 hours of in-person or online classes with a teacher and the class (max. 15 people)
When: Weekday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
- In person:
- High beginner: Tuesdays from January 19 to March 23
- Low intermediate and intermediate: Wednesdays from January 20 to March 24
- High intermediate: Thursdays from January 21 to March 25
- Online:
- High beginner and low intermediate: Tuesdays from January 19 to March 23
- Intermediate and high intermediate: Thursdays from January 21 to March 25
Where:
- In person: CEGEP Champlain – St. Lawrence campus (790 Av. Nérée-Tremblay, Québec, QC G1V 4K2)
- Online: Zoom platform
Price: $250 or $100 for the $5/ hour rate with the financial help of Services Québec (admissibility conditions at the end the registration form)
For all courses, your English level will be determined by your placement test in the registration form.
Possibility of Funding Through Services Québec
Eligible Applicants:
- Québec residents
- Individuals employed by a Québec-based business
- Eligibility is subject to review by Services Québec regarding the employer’s brand or business:
- Retail chains/franchises: Only employees who provide customer service are eligible.
- Businesses: Employees must perform duties that require English, not simply use English to communicate with colleagues.
- Self-employed workers
- Seasonal workers during periods when they are not working
Ineligible Applicants:
- Full-time students
- Unemployed individuals
- Individuals who are not Québec residents or who hold a work permit
- Employees of the public and parapublic sectors, including:
- Employees of Québec government ministries, organizations and agencies
- Employees of educational institutions within the education networks
- Employees of federal government ministries and agencies
- Municipal employees
- Individuals receiving benefits from the CNESST or the SAAQ
