International Mobility

Explore the places that inspired some of Britain’s greatest writers, from Shakespeare to J.K. Rowling. Through the study of literature, art, history, and culture, students discover how real-world landscapes, cities, and landmarks shaped iconic stories and creative movements. The course culminates in an immersive 10-day educational trip to England, featuring visits to celebrated sites such as Shakespeare’s Globe, Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, the Tower of London, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, and the Tate museums. Combining academic study with hands-on cultural exploration, this unforgettable experience allows students to walk in the footsteps of some of the world’s most influential writers and artists. 

 Discover Mexico through classroom learning and international travel. Students explore the country’s history, geography, politics, economy, and culture before applying their knowledge during a 12-day educational trip across Mexico. Through visits to historic and cultural sites, interactions with local communities, and guided field experiences, students gain firsthand insight into contemporary Mexican society. This unique course fosters global awareness, cultural understanding, and experiential learning beyond the classroom. 

PW Sims Business students can gain valuable international experience through optional internship placements abroad. Students may complete a 3-week internship in their second year or a 6-week internship in their third year, combining professional development with cultural immersion. In recent years, students have completed internships in countries such as Japan, France, and Switzerland, building global perspectives and career-ready skills.

Students are responsible for securing their own internships but are supported by their teachers and the International Mobility Counsellor. Fundings opportunities are available to students studying abroad through Logiq, Fédération des cégeps and are eligible for a bursary of up to 1400$ from P.W. Sims.

As a member of St. Lawerence’s Model United Nations delegation, you will represent a country and work with students from across Canada and around the world to develop solutions to some of today’s most pressing global issues, from climate change and gender inequality, to ending world hunger and ensuring peace and justice between nations. Throughout the year, participants attend weekly workshops to prepare them to be a delegate. As a delegation we attend:

• McMUN: a four-day simulation hosted by McGill University, which is the most prestigious Model UN in Canada 

• NMUN-NY: a week-long simulation in New York, attended by over 4000 students from around the world. Organized by the National Model United Nations, this is the world’s largest, most prestigious, most diverse, and oldest ongoing university-level Model UN, operating since 1927.
