Become a qualified tour guide and share your passion for Quebec City with others.
What is it?
A diploma that leads to the permit to become a Quebec City tour guide. We offer hybrid and online programs, each of which results in the same diploma. Learn about the differences below.
Being a tour guide gives you the chance to meet people from all over the world and help them fall in love with Quebec City.
Hybrid Program
An English program that combines our unique e-learning program with many practical activities on the field and at school.
- 15 in-class sessions (Tuesday evenings)
- 8 outings
- Visits of historical sites
- Walking, bus, and guiding technique tours (5 Saturday mornings)
- Constant supervision and support offered by our expert guide
- An evening to meet employers in the Quebec City region
- Final exams including a written exam and a walking tour
- Improve your English to guide the 90% of Quebec City’s tourists who speak English.
Fall 2025 session: September 9th, 2025 to December 16th, 2025.
Application deadline: August 29th, 2025.
Winter 2026 session: January 27th, 2026, to May 5th, 2026.
Application deadline: January 16th, 2026.
Price: $950 (best price in the region)
Functional English (intermediate level)

Online Program
The first e-learning program designed to prepare experienced guides to lead groups in Quebec City. Those who successfully complete the program obtain a valid tour guide permit from the city. This program is only available for experienced guides living outside the Quebec City region.
