Student Resources
We have plenty of resources available to our students to help you be your best and thrive at the college.

Succeed with Us

St. Lawrence’s Student Success Plan shows our commitment to helping you achieve success in all areas, not just in the classroom. The plan focuses on four main areas:
1. Success Beyond Grades
Does your definition of success include winning the championship, volunteering more, or finally writing that poem? We recognize that your accomplishments reach far beyond your studies.
2. A College Full of Support
We want to know what our students are achieving, and how. We’re putting systems into place that will help us to better do that.
3. Monitoring Success College-Wide
We strive to provide great academic support to students beyond the classroom, so everyone can achieve their full potential.
4. A Fruitful and Dynamic Pedagogical Life
The heart of the college is the classroom, so we’re working harder than ever to make our classes richer and more rewarding.

Student Services
Our excellent Student Services are here to help you on your college journey.
Academic Advisors can help with course registrations and schedule modifications. They also monitor your achievement and can offer suggestions to make things easier for you. If you’re having difficulties, would like to be matched with a tutor, or are looking to learn new study skills, these are the people to ask.
Our Guidance Counsellor is here to help you with your changing needs throughout your cégep studies. She can help you reflect on your interests, values, and skills, and guide you as you make decisions about your academic trajectory and career path. She can also connect you with resources to explore the possibilities for your future.
If you require accommodations or other assistance due to a learning disability, mental health issue, physical limitation, or other special need, Adapted Services is here to help. They can meet with you to assess your needs and provide individualized support to help you do your best.
When you’re struggling with family or relationship issues, questions of identity, or mental illness, you might want to meet with our Social Worker. She also manages projects that promote wellbeing at St. Lawrence, from pet therapy to the new Pathfinders program, where you can meet with upper-year students to ask any questions you might have about the College.
If you’re training at least 8 hours per week in your sport off-campus, we have supports to help you do your best. This can include a reduced course load, excused absences, special registration priority, and access to an Athletic Excellence course (also available for our Division 1 Lions athletes). Our Academic Advisor will ensure you have the support you need to succeed at school and on the field.
Pathfinders
Need directions, support, or someone to talk to? Stop by the Ask Me Anything booth and say hello to the Pathfinders! This team of second- and third-year students is trained in mental health first aid. They’re also experts on St. Lawrence and can help you get the information you need. Located just inside Entrance B, their booth is open from 10-2 on weekdays. You can ask a question, grab a snack, or make yourself at home in the quiet chill space.
