There are a variety of services available to our students within the domain of Health & Wellness. Whether you want to help out a friend, you’re looking for upcoming wellness activities, or you just need someone to talk to, all the information you need is here.

The following resources, offered through the college and externally, can help support your physical and mental health.

College Nurse
Services
The school’s sexual health nurse, Sharon Mcleod, provides various services, including, but not limited to:
- Information on health
- Information on sexuality
- Information on sexual transmitted infections
- Contraception and condoms
- Emergency contraception (morning-after-pill)
- Pregnancy tests
All services are free and confidential and are available for any student registered at St. Lawrence.

Family Doctor
If you would like to put your name on a waiting list for a family doctor, or to make an appointment with a doctor, visit RSVQ.
24-hour Support
To speak to a nurse about health concerns 24/7, you can call 811, option 1.
Youth Clinic

Student Insurance
Your student association has information on your Plan Major (your student insurance). For more info about this, contact the SLCSA or visit Plan Major.

Psychosocial Services & Counselling
We offer a safe space to talk about difficulties you may be experiencing at school, in your relationships or in your personal life. Students needing longer-term follow-up will also be given the appropriate resources in their community.
All registered St. Lawrence students have access to wellness and psychosocial support services. Remember that all services are free and confidential.
Possible reasons for seeking psychosocial support could be:
- Anxiety
- Stress
- Relationship and family issues
- Depression
- Academic stress or test anxiety
- Homesickness
- Loss and grief
- Self-esteem and confidence
- Self-harm or suicidal feelings
- And any other issues that may be affecting you
- Identity issues
Make an Appointment
To make an appointment with our wellness professional, you can:
- Send a MIO message (via your Omnivox type in Wellness in the address line) and the social worker will get back to you as soon as possible.
- Fill out a request form by clicking here.
- Drop in to see the Social Worker in office 278B during drop-in times on Wednesday mornings between 8:00 and 12:30.

LGBTQ2S+ Club
To join our student LGBTQ2S+ club, stop by the club fair in the fall. You can also drop by the Student Activities Department in room 272. Not yet a student? Come say hello at Open House.

Inclusion Taskforce

Intercultural Club
To join the student intercultural club, come meet us at the club fair in the fall or drop by our offices on the first floor of the Atrium.

Suicide Prevention
At St. Lawrence, we have a network of Gatekeepers to offer support to students during periods of distress. Gatekeepers are members of the SLC community trained in suicide prevention. If you have questions, concerns, or worrisome thoughts about yourself or someone else, please approach one of our gatekeepers. They are here to help!
The gatekeepers can be identified in the list below, by the sentinel/gatekeeper stickers on their door, by posters up through the school and by the blue t-shirts they wear for special events.

Wellness Activities
We offer a multitude of activities and events that will help you find balance in your life, explore new things and meet new people. Some examples include pet support, Mental Health First Aid Training for students, the Men’s Wellness campaign, the Pathfinders, and various volunteer opportunities.
