Welcome to St. Lawrence! This page is a one-stop shop for all the information you need to get ready for cegep. The first day of the Winter semester is Wednesday, January 14th.
Winter Welcome Day
Are you starting your first semester at St. Lawrence?
Join us at the college on Tuesday, January 13th at 10:30 am to learn about St. Lawrence, meet your fellow students, and get oriented. This event will include a brief presentation about the college, followed by a campus tour led by a student ambassador. This is also a good time to pick up any textbooks you’ve ordered, to find your locker, and to locate your first classes. The event should last no more than an hour and a half.

Bookstore
Book Purchases
You can purchase your books online at Bookstore SLC. All transactions must be completed using a credit card, as dual debit-credit cards are not supported. Be sure to keep a copy of your email receipt, as you’ll need it when picking up your books.
Important Notes
- · Only books linked to your current class schedule will appear in your list.
- · If you expect schedule changes, do not buy any books until your course change has gone through, the booklist will automatically be updated at that point. please wait before placing your order to ensure you receive the correct materials.
- · Be sure to refresh your book list before purchasing, as new items are added daily.
Ordering & Confirmation
· Be sure to use your email address when placing your order and double-check that it is correct. Not your mother’s email or a friend’s. If this happens, they must forward the receipt to you.
· Your receipt (proof of purchase) will be sent to you by email. You must have this receipt to pick up your books, so keep it accessible.
· If you do not see your confirmation email, check your spam or junk mail folder.
Book Pickup
Your order will be ready for pickup two business days after it’s placed. If you’re unable to collect it yourself, someone else can pick it up for you, as long as they have a copy of your receipt.
Example: If you place an order after 3:00 p.m. on a Friday or over the weekend, your books will be ready for pickup on the following Tuesday.
Book orders can be picked up in the library the first week and then returning to the bookstore (beside reception) as of the second week.
Book Availability
Only books that are currently in our inventory can be purchased. If you see “NA” next to a book on your list, it means the book is not yet available, and its arrival date is unknown. You’ll need to purchase it at a later date.
Please note that the bookstore cannot provide an exact arrival date.
Vouchers
If you have a voucher, you may use the voucher number online. For more details about vouchers, visit room 201.
Refunds & Exchanges
To receive a refund, you must provide the original receipt, either in paper or digital format. Wrapped books must be returned in their original wrapping, as unwrapped books cannot be refunded or exchanged. Be sure to check the refund deadline, as no refunds will be processed after February 20th.
There will be NO REFUNDS on lab coats, molecular kits, safety glasses, or cards.
Bus Pass
This semester, full-time St. Lawrence students can once again enjoy a discounted RTC Student Semester Pass for $210, valid for 17 weeks from first use.
To purchase your pass, you will need your digital proof of enrollment, available in your Omnivox account.
How to purchase your student pass
Students can purchase their pass at the college from January 14th to 21st, in room 153:
- January 14th-16th: 8:00AM to 4:00PM
- January 19th-21st: 9:00AM to 3:00PM
The pass is available to all full-time students, with no age limit. Please ensure your OPUS card is up to date before purchasing.
If you miss the on-campus sale, you will need to visit SAMI (820 Ernest-Gagnon) and bring your digital student card.
How to get your OPUS card
OPUS cards will also be available on campus from January 14th to 21st Please bring your digital student card showing full-time status.
After January 21st, OPUS cards can be obtained at SAMI (820 Ernest-Gagnon).
Already have an OPUS card?
Please check that your OPUS card will not expire before your pass ends. OPUS cards are valid for four years. Students who are 18 years old or under as of September 30th, 2025 can complete the entire process at the college. Students 19 and over must renew their student status each year for a $5 fee.
Bus Stops Near the College
The number 18 bus stops directly in front of the college on Avenue Nérée-Tremblay.
The following buses serve Chemin Ste-Foy: 13, 16, 79, 92, 93, 94, 804, 807, 907, L2, and L3.
Finances
Food Services
The cafeteria is open every semester, following class schedules. It is located on the ground floor, next to the atrium. Vending machines and microwaves are also available for student use.
Water Fountains
Water fountains are located throughout the college and all fountains include water bottle taps. We recommend that you bring a reusable water bottle.
Nearby Restaurants & Cafés
There are over 25 restaurants and cafés near the College.
Housing Information
Students can access the housing document to help locate apartments and rooms near the college. The accommodations listed are not inspected by Champlain – St. Lawrence and do not serve as recommendations. This document is for informational purposes only.
Insurance
Students receive insurance through Plan Major as part of their fees. The college does not manage this insurance plan and any questions you may have about the plan should be directed to Plan Major or to your student association. You may find the following documents to be helpful.

Procedures and Claims
IT
All questions concerning your I.T. needs can be answered on this webpage. Should you require additional help for your computer, please contact our I.T. department either by:
- Sending an email to ITSupportStlo@crcmail.net, or
- Clicking on “I.T. Service Center” in the Omnivox side toolbar menu (after login using your SLC credentials, you can use the Jira platform to make a ticket. Use your @stu.slc.qc.ca profile login.
Alternatively, you may visit the IT Support office in room 240.
The I.T. service center button is at the bottom left of your Omnivox main page.
Library Services
Book Search & Reservations
You can search for books online using the library catalog (KOHA). Once you find the book you need, you can reserve it by placing a hold. The library will notify you when your book is ready for pick-up.
In-Person Assistance
You can visit the library during its opening hours, Monday to Friday during term time. Library clerks are available to help you find books or documents. Make sure your student ID card is properly set up so you can check out books.

Locker Information
Locker Assignments
Your locker number is listed at the top of your schedule. You can only use the locker assigned to you, as determined by the registrar. It is recommended to bring a lock and secure it right away on Welcome Day.
Locker Policy
Lockers are school property, and St. Lawrence reserves the right to search them if necessary. You must empty your locker by the last day of classes in May, as lockers will be cleaned, repaired, and prepared for the Fall semester during the first week of June. Any items left behind will not be kept, and the school is not responsible for locker contents. Be sure to clear out your belongings on time to avoid losing them!

Omnivox
Omnivox is the portal used to manage your academic life at the college. From your home screen, you can access:
- Léa: where you’ll find your courses
- MIO: which allows you to send and receive messages
Your teachers and the college administration will communicate with you through MIO. You can also use it to contact other professionals, such as Student Services, if you need support or wish to book an appointment.
Through Omnivox, you’ll also have access to important documents within each community you belong to. This is one of the best ways to stay informed about what’s happening at St. Lawrence.
It is your responsibility to check Omnivox regularly to ensure you don’t miss important information or updates.
Please upload a photo of yourself to Omnivox as soon as possible. Make sure the photo is well lit and clearly shows your face, as staff will use it to identify you.
The college also communicates through your student email account, so be sure to set it up promptly and check it on a regular basis.
Parking
There is limited parking in the area surrounding the college, and no parking is available on campus. Some nearby locations may offer parking spaces for rent:

Important:
- Do not park in the Pyramide parking lots, as vehicles are regularly towed.
- If you park at Pavillon Montcalm without a valid parking pass, your car will also be towed.
Schedule
Schedule Changes & Contact Information
Primary Contact: Alexandre Roussel
Before reaching out for assistance, check the Modification Module in Omnivox to see if you can make changes yourself. This module should be used for simple schedule modifications, such as changing from one section to another within the same course or switching between two course options that were in your course selection.
How to Contact Alexandre Roussel:
Send a MIO message (type “Alexandre Roussel” in the address line).
When to Contact Alexandre Directly
You should contact Alexandre if:
- You are missing one or more courses
- You have too many courses in your schedule
- You have a schedule conflict
- You failed a course and no longer meet a prerequisite
- You have no lunch break (30 minutes between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm)
- You have a medical reason (medical note required)
Fees & College Policy
If you request a schedule change due to a time-of-day preference, a $25 fee will apply for each modification. Please note that the College may adjust schedules without notice for logistical reasons.
Student ID Card
Students must obtain their electronic student ID card through Omnivox. This digital card confirms student status and grants access to services such as the library and room reservations. The card is renewed annually.
Mobile Access
To access your digital student ID on your mobile phone, download the Omnivox mobile app for iOS or Android.

Student Services
Our excellent Student Services are here to help you on your college journey. You can access these services by sending a MIO through Omnivox or visiting the Student Services department. Many of these services also host an Omnivox community, through which you can access important resources.
Academic Advisors can help with course registrations and schedule modifications. They also monitor your achievement and can offer suggestions to make things easier for you. If you’re having difficulties, would like to be matched with a tutor, or are looking to learn new study skills, these are the people to ask.
Our Guidance Counsellor is here to help you with your changing needs throughout your cégep studies. She can help you reflect on your interests, values, and skills, and guide you as you make decisions about your academic trajectory and career path. She can also connect you with resources to explore the possibilities for your future.
If you require accommodations or other assistance due to a learning disability, mental health issue, physical limitation, or other special need, Adapted Services is here to help. They can meet with you to assess your needs and provide individualized support to help you do your best.
When you’re struggling with family or relationship issues, questions of identity, or mental illness, you might want to meet with our Social Worker. She also manages projects that promote wellbeing at St. Lawrence, from pet therapy to the new Pathfinders program, where you can meet with upper-year students to ask any questions you might have about the College.
If you’re training at least 8 hours per week in your sport off-campus, we have supports to help you do your best. This can include a reduced course load, excused absences, special registration priority, and access to an Athletic Excellence course (also available for our Division 1 Lions athletes). Our Academic Advisor will ensure you have the support you need to succeed at school and on the field.

The school nurse provides various services including, but not limited to:
- Information on health, sexuality, and sexually transmitted infections
- Contraception and condoms
- Emergency contraception (morning-after pill)
- Pregnancy tests
All services are free and confidential to St. Lawrence students.
