Fees

As a public CEGEP, Champlain – St. Lawrence provides publicly funded services to students for minimal fees. Most fees are set by Champlain Regional College through its Bylaw 6 Concerning Student Fees. The fees are summarized in the appendix at the end of the bylaw.
In addition, some fees are set for the local campus by St. Lawrence. Most student fees are summarized here.

Government Financial Aid: Loans and Bursaries
Options available to you
Full-time students who have insufficient funds should consider applying for government loans and bursaries. Eligibility requirements can be found here.
Loans (not bursaries) are also available for students studying part-time.
This page provides information about the advantages of applying for government loans and bursaries in comparison to other forms of loans or credit.
On this page, get information on how the government determines your level of financial need.
Applying for loans and bursaries
For government loans and bursaries, apply directly online to speed up the process. Forms for the following school year are available in May. Apply early to ensure you have funds when school starts. When applying, you will be asked to enter our school code (936002) and your program code. Up-to-date program codes can be found here. St. Lawrence uses in-house codes that do not necessarily match the government program codes.
Some loans and bursaries will be advertised directly through the college, so keep an eye out for communications during the year.

Funding your University Studies

Students looking for scholarships or bursaries must invest time to research opportunities that fit their profile.
Some university entrance scholarships are based solely on the student’s academic profile and may not require a full application but rather a submitted application form. Merit-based scholarships may have criteria such as academic standing, leadership, community involvement, athletic achievements, etc. Some scholarships have specific criteria to encourage students from specific communities or underrepresented groups.
Bursaries will consider financial need. How a student’s financial situation is assessed may vary.
When in doubt, the best strategy is to contact the award organization and ask questions regarding their eligibility requirements.
For universities, visit their website for information on entrance scholarships, bursaries, and campus job opportunities. Often, a good place to start is the future/prospective student page. As most Quebec universities visit the St. Lawrence campus every year, you can take this opportunity to speak with representatives.
