About us
CEGEP Champlain – St. Lawrence is the only public English cegep in Quebec City. We strive to offer our students the best possible English collegiate education. We are known for our human scale, the quality of our educational services, our dynamic socio-cultural life, and a solid tradition of excellence in athletics.

What Is a CEGEP?

In Québec, cegeps are the first stage of higher education, completed after elementary and high school. The province’s 48 institutions offer pre-university and technical programs, which prepare students for the next phase of their education or career. All cegep students take certain key courses, including language, philosophy, and physical education, which are mandated by the government. These are referred to as General Education courses.
Cegep is a place where students develop more independence, discover their passions, and build their skills. While all cegeps serve as a stepping stone for young people, each has its own programs and areas of focus.
