SLC Fashion Show Donates $7,000 to Make A Wish

Last March, CEGEP Champlain St. Lawrence students responsible for the Annual Fashion Show were crushed when they learned that their event could not take place. "All those months of fundraising, finding sponsors, recruiting and preparing for the evening just all went up in smoke," reveals Elizabeth Ratté, organizer. “The goal of the show is to create an extraordinary evening, but also to donate our profits to an organization that is close to our hearts. "

No fashion show means no expenses. Thus, the organizing committee, with the support of several of its partners, were able to donate a remarkable $ 7,000 to the Make a Wish Foundation. Mr. Jean-Simon Jalbert, Development Coordinator at Make a Wish, was delighted to learn the news on October 9th. “The SLC Fashion Show will allow us to fulfil many wishes with this donation. This is one of the largest sums raised this year and I congratulate all the St. Lawrence students involved. The current situation and the modest size of the Cégep makes this donation all the more impressive."

The event was to be held on April 4, 2020 at the Quebec City Convention Center. Nearly 500 people were expected. "The SLC Fashion Show is one of our biggest annual activities, and the best part is that it’s entirely organized by our students," says Jérémie Ouellet, Recreation Technician at St. Lawrence.

The organizing committee would like to thank its sponsors who agreed to donate their contribution: Armatures Bois-Francs Inc., Bastien Industries, Blanchette Vachon, Quincaillerie Corneau, Calibre Air Eau, Chaz, Clinique Radiologue Audet, Dr. Isabelle Baillargeon Inc., Energie Cardio, Faks Café, Labrecque Plancher et Décor, Magicscreed, Optique de la Capitale Inc., Papou Inc. Musselli, Roulement Harvey Inc., Solutions Techniques Industrielles Inc., SST Groupe Conseil, Tran et Associé, Voyages Transat
