Conference championship
The two Lions D2 basketball teams from St. Lawrence participated in their conference championships. The girls went their way to Chicoutimi and the men headed for Thetford Mines.
The women's team, led by Justin Robert and Catherine Guay, aimed to forget last year’s scenario. Their mission was clear: make the provincial championship! Despite losing their second game against the Elans of Garneau, the team returned with the bronze medal and can now focus on the their provincial participation to be held at CEGEP du Vieux Montréal from April 4 to 6th.
We must also highlight the great performance from Ariane Doré, named RSEQ most valuable player and RSEQ all-star team recently.
On the men's side, this was their first participation since the 2012-13 school year. Note the excellent work of the Weston brothers, Peter and Matt, who are in their first year in the athletic program as coaches. Unfortunately, the men had to bow to the Lennoxville Cougars who proved to be the champions of the conference.
