April 19th 2018

Jean Gleizes, SLC student and local St. Lawrence Individual Project Winner, has been named finalist at the Regional level for the OsEtnreprendre Challenge and is now invited to present his project at the regional gala.

Jean’s project, is a backpack that will help with the distribution of cold drinks during events like the “Festival d’été de Quebec”. It will revolutionize street vending by creating a more balanced bag that will help sellers with keeping count and making sure drinks are always cold.

Native of France, Jean moved to Quebec in 2011 to play hockey. First in the Quebec AA Development Hockey League, he was drafted by the Tigres de Victoriaville in 2014. In 2016, he joined the Champlain St. Lawrence Lions. After playing a season and a half, he decided to focus on his studies and his business venture.

A student in Social Science – Commerce Profile, Jean has been part of the St. Lawrence entrepreneurial program, Kickstart, a new service offered to students who wish to start their own business, learn more about start-ups and expand their business network with actual Entrepreneurs.

The regional gala will be held on May 2nd at “Espace Dalhousie”. All finalists will be present. A winner in each category, individual and collective, will be announced. They will then represent the Quebec city region at the national level.
